Job Purpose

The Duty-Free Sales Agent at RAK Airport plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality customer service and maximizing revenue by assisting travelers in purchasing duty-free products. The primary responsibility includes promoting and selling a variety of goods while maintaining compliance with customs regulations and ensuring an inviting shopping environment.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Assistance and Sales

  1. Welcoming and Assisting Customers: Provide a warm and professional welcome to travelers, assisting them in finding products that meet their preferences.
  2. Product Promotion: Showcase the features of Duty-Free products, including fragrances, cosmetics, alcohol, tobacco, souvenirs, and more.
  3. Upselling and Cross-Selling: Suggest additional or complementary items to boost sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
  4. Transaction Processing: Handle payments accurately, ensuring smooth and secure transactions.
  5. Feedback Handling: Address customer queries and complaints professionally, turning challenges into positive experiences.
  6. Inventory Management
  7. Stock Monitoring: Conduct daily counts of high-demand items, reporting discrepancies promptly.
  8. Merchandising: Ensure shelves are stocked and products are displayed attractively to capture customer attention.
  9. Inventory Audits: Assist in physical inventory counts and report findings to the Shift Leader.
  10. Collaboration and Reporting
  11. Team Coordination: Work closely with team members and Shift Leaders to ensure seamless operations.
  12. Incident Reporting: Notify the Duty-Free Manager of any suspicious activities or security concerns immediately.
  13. Sales Analysis: Provide insights into customer preferences and product performance to optimize inventory.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Educational Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

BA/BS degree in marketing, promotions, or sales is highly desirable.

Professional Skills

Proficient in customer service with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

Proven track record of meeting sales targets and closing deals effectively.

Strong knowledge of Duty-Free products, global shopping trends, and inventory systems.

Work Experience

Retail Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years in a retail or customer-facing role, preferably within the Duty-Free industry.

Sales Expertise: Experience in upselling and cross-selling products with measurable results.
